Your Newborn Shoot Questions Answered

Embarking on a newborn shoot can evoke a mix of excitement and uncertainty, which is why I come to you to take away any undue stress during those early days. I have compiled a comprehensive set of frequently asked questions designed to address your concerns and enhance your experience. Below, you will find answers that cover everything from safety measures to tips for creating memorable photographs. My goal is to ensure you are informed in the best way possible, so you feel comfortable knowing your special baby is in safe hands. These are my favourite shoots, as it is the beginning of your journey as a family, a moment I get to capture for you! And you never know you might want me back for a 1 year cake smash!

Safety First: What Measures Are In Place?

When it comes to newborn photography, safety is my top priority. I adhere to strict protocols to ensure a secure environment for your baby during the shoot. This includes the use of appropriate props, safe posing techniques, and continuous monitoring of your child's comfort. I also maintain a clean and hygienic routine to safeguard your newborn's health.

What Should I Prepare for the Shoot?

Preparation is key to a successful newborn shoot. Ensuring baby is sleepy is key to those adorable newborn poses. Therefore, it is helpful if baby could be awake from around an hour before my arrival, as this would mean baby is ready for their nap, resulting in cute newborn photos! Additionally, it’s wise to allow plenty of time for feeding and comforting before the session begins, enduring your little one is relaxed and ready for their close-up.

How Long Does a Newborn Shoot Typically Last?

The length of a newborn shoot can vary, but typically, you should expect the session to last around two to three hours. This timeframe allows for feeding, soothing, and taking breaks as needed. I believe in a flexible approach that accommodates your baby's needs, ensuring a stress-free experience for both parents and infant.

When Should We Schedule the Newborn Shoot?

Timing is essential for capturing those delicate newborn moments. I recommend scheduling your shoot within the first two weeks of your baby's life, as this period often allows for the best poses and the cutest sleepy shots. However, I do understand that every family is different, and I am happy to work with you to find the ideal time that suits your circumstances.
